The lighter red 2022 Kinki is something between a Beaujolais and a red from Jura, with berry fruit, wild herbs and a medium-bodied palate with contained ripeness and alcohol. This is now a Vino de Paraje La llamilla, Villa de Congosto, remarking on the origin where the vineyards contain an old field blend of red and white grapes traditional in the village. This comes from a plot at 750 meters above sea level that was harvested early (especially for such a late-ripening zone), vinified with full clusters in open 5,000-liter oak vat with a long and soft maceration and aged in 800-liter clay pot to preserve the freshness and lightness of the wine. It has a moderate 12% alcohol and a pH of 3.2, denoting freshness and balance. It's medium-bodied and fine-boned, with almost unnoticeable tannins. 2,000 bottles produced.
